Miley Cyrus Racist For Slant Eye Photo Scandal
Our dearest Miley Cyrus it’s on a new scandal (again?), for a funny picture with her friends and making a slant eyes gesture!
Some people are very angry because say that is a racist gesture, considered degrading to Asian people.
Other people think the picture it`s just a funny picture with young teenagers.
In the meanwhile Miley Cyrus apologize (or justify the attitude) on her official fan website:
“I’ve also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, I’m sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context!”
“In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy?” she adds. “It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me. If that would of [sic] been anyone else, it would of been overlooked! I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new ‘BAD GIRL’!”

As a mother of a hearing impaired child (Now adult) & using sign language; the particular eye gestures decipted in the pictures are what we us for persons of Asian origin for the last 35 yrs. Now my son is informing me of all types changes in our American Sign Language to be more politically correct. Perhaps the woman that is comptemplating sueing MIley should be sued by the deaf American Nation & with the American Sign Language for infringements on languague for the deaf!!

I’m Asian and the photo does not offend me. Asians are far worse in making fun of foreigners. In my country, photos and videos of Obama and Clinton are used to make jokes. British and French accents are ridiculed and Americans are part of everyday laugh. I mean, if Miley and her gang were making fun of our eyes, what’s the big deal? I for one am really disappointed in where I see this young lady headed. Not very long ago she was such a great role model for young girls, but look at her now – girating on stage like she belongs on a pole in a gentglemen’s club. It’s very sad what’s happening to our young people today.
