Mile Cyrus decided to do a photo shoot with the famous magazine Vanity Fair.

This photo shoot pushed the limits of what is acceptable in our society for how role models, teens, and the media should act. These pictures were taken by famed photographer, Annie Lebowitz, and have caused mass outrage on both sides of the coin.

The Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair shoot first have caused outrage to the parents of the fans of Miley Cyrus. This is because Miley is acting like an “adult” in posing for pictures with just a sheet covering her. The parents are outraged because they do not want their kids acting as if they are adults, when in fact they are kids. This type of soft “pornography”, as some have called have outraged parents everywhere.

Another outrage is of Vanity Fair. Most people have speculated that Vanity Fair should be reprimanded and punished for this egregious act. They basically are exploiting a 15 year old girl, and her fan base, to sell more magazines. Vanity Fair is also pushing the boundaries of some child pornography laws. In most parents minds, this is an outrageous, disgusting act.

On the flip side of the coin, there are some defending the shoot. Including Annie Lebowitz, and Vanity Fair. They say the photographs are artsy, beautiful, and that people should see them for what they are. Lebowtiz herself has said that Miley Cyrus had discussed the photo shoot and what she wanted done, and that Miley and Billy Ray signed off on the photos before they were published.

Miley Cyrus has since publicly apologized to all of her fans and claims she feels “embarrassed”, by the photo shoot. Disney has said they are putting her on a 4-6 month hiatus of the limelight. Here is the controversial photo:
